Services for Emma Jean James, of Wesson, were 11 a.m. Monday,July 2, at Sylvarena Baptist Church in Wesson with burial in thechurch cemetery. Stringer Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is in chargeof arrangements.

Mrs. James, 79, died June 30, 2007, at St. Dominic-JacksonMemorial Hospital in Jackson.

She was a lifelong member of the Sylvarena community and was agraduate of Wesson High School. She was a 25-year employee of theformer Stahl-Urban Company and then owned and operated Ruth’sFashion in Wesson until her retirement. She was a devoted churchmember and Sunday School teacher at Sylvarena Baptist Churchthroughout her life. She will be greatly missed in her community,church and especially by those who knew her as “Mother,””Grandmother” and “G.G.”

Preceding her in death were her parents, Garland N. and RuthSullivan Case; and her husband, Virgil (Jimmie) James.

Survivors are her her daughter, Pamela James Owens and husbandBob, of Vicksburg; her grandchildren, Casey Owens and wife Beth, ofByram, and Christie Owens Ayers and husband Brian, of Cleveland;and her great-grandchildren, Dylan and Campbell Owens, and CameronAyers.
