Services for Jacqueline Kelly Thurman, of Wesson, are 11 a.m.Monday, July 9, at Wesson Baptist Church with burial in BeauregardCemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home inHazlehurst.

Mrs. Thurman, 84, died July 7, 2007, at Brook Manor NursingHome.

She was a native of Copiah County and was known throughout thecommunity as “Maw Maw.” She was a retired study hall teacher atCo-Lin High School and a member of Wesson Baptist Church, where sheworked in the day care and nursery for over 20 years.

Preceding her in death was her husband, J.C. Thurman; her son,Ricky Thurman; her parents, Jack and Cornelia Kelly; her sisters,Jimmye Batchelor and Kathryn Barker; and a lifelong friend whopassed away on July 5, 2007, Polly Hales.

Survivors are her daughter, Ginger Heard and husband Dale, ofWesson; her grandsons, Jaymie Heard, Kelly Heard and wife Brandi,all of Wesson; and a lifelong friend and cousin, Marjorie KellySmith.
