Services for Wilfred “Omar” Patton Thompson, of Bogue Chitto,are 11 a.m. Thursday, July 12, at Mt. Wade Missionary BaptistChurch in Brookhaven with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery inBrookhaven. The Rev. Phillip Hamilton will officiate. WilliamsMortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Thompson, 56, died July 7, 2007, at his residence. He wasborn in Brookhaven on Aug. 8, 1950, to Wiley Thompson and Rosie LeeHarrison.

He was a 1970 graduate of Port Richmond High School and ofStaten Island Community College. He was a veteran of the UnitedStates Navy. He was disabled and a member of Mt. Wade M.B.Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, WilliePatton, Roscoe Patton, David Charles Patton, Clifton Thompson andAlphoso Thompson; and his sister, Daisy Thompson.

Survivors are his wife, Katie Thompson, of Bogue Chitto; hissons, Omar Lofton, of Houston, Texas, and Brandon Thompson, ofBogue Chitto; his daughter, Tarsha Arsenec, of New York City, N.Y.;his stepdaughter, Tonya Hughes, of Savannah, Ga.; his brothers,Edward D. Thompson and Essie Lee Thompson, both of Brookhaven; hissisters, Dora A. Cameron and Patricia A. Breland, both ofBrookhaven; and his two grandchildren.
