Kathryn Loretta Marino, 89, died July 8, 2007, at St.Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial wascelebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 12, at St. Mary’s CatholicChurch with burial following in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Visitation washeld from 5 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, with a rosary servicefollowing at 7 p.m. at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home on HighStreet in Jackson.
Kathryn was born in Grenada on Feb. 27, 1918, the daughter ofRobert N. Marino and Mamie Feduccia. She was the second-youngest ofnine children. The family moved to Jackson and Kathryn graduatedfrom Central High School in 1936. Kathryn loved music and was anaccomplished violinist in the high school orchestra. She was acommunicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Jackson, where she wasSunshine chairman of the Women’s Auxiliary and a member of thechoir. She was employed with Lamar Life Insurance Co., in Jacksonand retired in 1987 after over 45 years of dedicated service.
In her retirement, Kathryn moved to Brookhaven to be near familymembers. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi CatholicChurch.
Preceding her in death were her parents; six sisters, RoseBarranco, Josephine Harold, Mary Ellis, Grace Marascalco, AdalineFeduccia and Sarah Ellis; two brothers, Tony Marino and CharlesMarino; and niece, Josephine Wailes.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, Johnny andCamille Barranco, of Jackson, Sarah and Clayton Cadenhead, ofCrestview, Fla., Charles and Becky Feduccia, Bob and Rita Feduccia,Margaret and Bob Weathersby, all of Brookhaven; John RobertMarascalco and Michael Marascalco, of Jackson; Ricky and KathyMarascalco, of Byram, Carolyn and Bill Johnson, of Flora, LindaTrussell, of Hattiesburg, Phyllis Ellis, of Jackson, Mary Jenkins,Peggy Rhodes and Nick Ellis, all of Benton, and Tina and BuckCoats, of Madison. Kathryn was a very loving aunt, great-aunt andgodmother and always remembered everyone’s birthday. She will bemissed by her extended family, including 79 great-nieces andnephews.
Pallbearers were Charles Feduccia Jr., Bob Feduccia, RickyMarascalco, Michael Marascalco, Nick Ellis and Jeff Cadenhead.
Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Barranco, John RobertMarascalco, Clayton Cadenhead, Bill Johnson and Bob Weathersby.
Memorials may be made in Kathryn’s honor to St. Mary’s CatholicChurch in Jackson.
