Lady ‘Cats rally by Lady Bears

The Bogue Chitto Lady ‘Cats rallied for three runs in the top ofthe seventh inning to take a 5-3 win over the host West LincolnLady Bears Thursday night in slowpitch softball action.

Blaine Myers was the winning pitcher with no strikeouts and onewalks. Shelby Lofton took the loss, fanning one batter and walkingthree.

Bogue Chitto ripped 11 hits and West Lincoln collected 10. TheBears committed seven errors to the ‘Cats none.

“It was a good win,” said Bogue Chitto coach Scott Leggett. “Wehit when we needed to for the win. I was proud of my seniors asthey stepped up. Jessie Miller had a huge hit for us.”

Myers doubled and singled for the ‘Cats. Caitlyn Owen and JessieMiller collected 2 singles apiece. Doubling was Kelli Howard. JosiePorter, Morgan Roberts, Bradi Davis and Mikki MItchell singled.

Miller’s single in the seventh inning helped spark the rally forthe comeback win for Bogue Chitto.

Bogue Chitto led 2-0 at the top of the third inning. WestLincoln collected 3 runs in the bottom for the 3-2 lead and held onuntil the top of the seventh.

“We’ve got to cut out our errors,” said West Lincoln coachAndrew Redd. “We will not win in district making those errors.”

The Bears got 2 singles each from Ashley McCaffery and HannahKnouse. Hitting safely were Julie Case, Alexis Cook, Holli Smith,Stephanie Smith, Karli Herrington and Lofton.

Junior varsity action

West Lincoln knocked off Bogue Chitto in the JVgame.

Jessica Franklin got the win with 2 strikeouts and 3walks. Morgan Roberts took the loss with no strikeouts and 3walks.

Makayla Smith, Karli Herrington and Taylor Crews led theBears with 2 singles apiece. Hitting safely were Katie Mullins,Jessica Franklin, Marissa Pruski, Taylor Lofton and AnnaSmith.

The Cats got a pair of singles from Haley Estess.Adrienne Wallace, Toy Smith, Amanda Owen, Roberts and Kerri McGeheesingled.

Bogue Chitto hosts Natchez Cathedral Monday night. WestLincoln has a varsity game at Vicksburg St. Aloysius.
