Services for Bernice Stegall McCormick, of Athens, Texas, willbe held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, at Brookhaven Funeral Homeon North Jackson Street with burial in Beauregard Cemetery inCopiah County. The Rev. Mike Carr will officiate.

Visitation is Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. McCormick, 77, died Sept. 7, 2007, at the home of herdaughter in Athens. She was born in Beauregard on Dec. 26, 1929, toWilliam Archie Stegall and Emma Gladys Farrar Stegall. On June 10,1951, she married Wade McCormick and was a devoted wife to him for56 years.

She was a graduate of Wesson High School. She was employed withSouth Central Bell. She was a devoted Christian and a member ofWesson Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother, MarvinStegall.

Survivors are her husband, Wade McCormick, of Athens; herchildren, Bridgett Knotts and husband Wayne, of Athens, Joy Jonesand husband Tom, of Slidell, La., and Alon McCormick, ofMinneapolis, Minn.; her brothers and sisters, Robert BentonStegall, of Kentwood, La., Patsy Stegall Jackson, Freddie Stegalland Jesse Stegall, all of Wesson, and Bonnie Stegall Galloway, ofBrandon; her grandchildren, Bobby, Tim and Summer, David and Jenand Becki; and her great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Trinity andChristian. She was loved by her extended family.

Memorials may be made to any local hospice ministry.
