Hornets, Cobras in region test

The undefeated Wesson Cobras host the Loyd Star Hornets Fridaynight in Stone Stadium for their first Region 6-2A contest of theseason. Wesson comes into the game with a 3-0 record and Loyd Starstands 2-1 on the season. The battle between the archrivals beginsat 7 p.m.
In Lincoln County action, Brookhaven hosts McComb, Bogue Chittois at Salem, Seminary visits Enterprise and Mount Olive invadesWest Lincoln.
Wesson, ranked No. 6 in this week’s Associated Press Class 2APrep Poll, is coming off a wild 42-39 win over Sumrall. Loyd Starcame back in the fourth quarter to beat North Pike 28-18 lastweek.
Wesson is riding a 3-year win streak over Loyd Star. The Hornetsbeat the Cobras for the last time in 2003 by a score of 40-11.
