Services for Marie “Re-Re” Dixon Dukes, of Brookhaven, are 3p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at Macedonia M.B. Church with burial inHillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.

Mrs. Dukes, 76, died Sept. 16, 2007, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born on Feb. 3, 1931, to Julius Dixon and BlanchieDixon.

She was retired. She was a member of Macedonia MissionaryBaptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, ThomasDukes Sr.; her daughter, Hazel Fairman; her sisters, Marlee Johnsonand Hattie B. Richmond; and two brothers, R.C. Dixon and J.T.Dixon.

Survivors are her daughter, Helen King, of Brookhaven; hergrandchildren, Melinda Dixon and her husband, Marvin, of BogueChitto, Derrick King and his wife, Jackie, of Brookhaven, FredKing, of Lansing, Mich., Charles King and his wife, Carrie, ofLansing, and Julius King and his wife, Emma, of Fort Worth, Texas;seven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Lucreasia Newton and herhusband, Charles, of Brookhaven, Eadis Beasley, of Brookhaven, andGoldie Mackabee and her husband, J.W., of Hattiesburg; herbrothers, Robert Earl Dixon and his wife, Artoria, of Brookhaven,John Henry Dixon and his wife, Gertha, of Brookhaven, Lonnie Dixon,of Brookhaven, J.C. Dixon and his wife, Pauline, of Chicago, Ill.,Melvin Dixon, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Steven Dixon, ofChicago.
