Ole Brook Lady Panthers shut out Wesson on Senior Night

It was Senior Night at the Lady Panther Softball Complex, asBrookhaven welcomed Wesson and Bogue Chitto for a varsitydoubleheader Monday night. It would be a split decision, as theLady Panthers shut out the Lady Cobras 10-0 in the opener; but fellto the Bogue Chitto Lady ‘Cats 7-4 in the nightcap.
Ole Brook travels to Port Gibson Wednesday with game time setfor 4:30 p.m. The Lady Panthers close out the regular seasonThursday at Warren Central. Wesson goes to St. Andrew’s today andhosts Enterprise Thursday.
The Lady Cobras (15-10), coached by Hugh Webb, need to win oneof two games to capture the 6-2A title. Ole Brook, already in theSouth 4A playoffs, travels to Quitman next Tuesday for the openinground of the playoffs.
“Brookhaven is by far the best team we’ve played all year,” saidWebb. His young team has made steady improvement this season.

In between games, Lady Panther Head Coach Lisa Covington watchedas seniors Terri Hodges, Katie Stewart, Georgia Rae Rainer andmanager Jasmine Banks were honored. Each was presented with abouquet of balloons, a gift bag and an autographed teampicture.
