Lettie Mae Hux Allen Bales

Services for Lettie Mae Hux Allen Bales, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapelwith burial in Mt. Olive Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Bales, 69, died Oct. 2, 2007, at Shady Oaks Personal Care.She was born on Feb. 19, 1938, to Berkley C. Hux and Rena WilkinsonHux.

She was a member of Mallalieu Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brothers, Richardand B.C. Hux Jr.; her sister, Verdue Hux; and her husbands, RobertEarl Allen and Bill Bales.

Survivors include her brothers, Oliver Hux and Jessie HerbertHux, both of Bogue Chitto, and Jerry Hux and David Hux, both ofBrookhaven; her sisters, Margie Cantrell, of Brookhaven, MarylineHolley, of Greenville, and Linda Lambert, of Jayess; and a host ofother relatives.

Edwin Vernon Holland

Graveside services for Edwin Vernon Holland, of Ferriday, La.,were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Birds Chapel Church of God inBude. Riverwood Family Funeral Service was in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Holland, 56, died Oct. 1, 2007, at his residence. He wasborn on April 4, 1951, to Bertram Holland and Maggie AllredHolland.

He was a carpenter. He was a United States Army veteran whofought in Vietnam and a member of the Church of God.

Preceding him in death were his father; and his brother-in-law,Sam Davis.

Survivors include his mother; his brothers, Roger Holland andhis wife, Clara, of Meadville, P.G. Holland and his wife, Joan, ofBrandon, Phillip Holland, of Brandon, and Wade Holland and hiswife, Tracy, of Brookhaven; and his sister, Christine Davis, ofBrookhaven.
