Entergy official touts benefits of energy-saving light bulbs

Officials of Entergy and one local service organization areencouraging the public to spend just $5 to help lower energy billsand positively influence the environment.

Entergy customer service manager Kenny Goza spoke to the NoonLions Club on Tuesday and encouraged members to take a very smallmeasure to help reduce not only greenhouse gases released by theenergy plants, but also to save on their electric bills.

Goza told the club about the rollout of a new plan through theuse of energy-efficient light bulbs and appliances. He told themthat changing even one light bulb to the energy-savers can have adirect impact on global warming and energy spending.

“With all of the focus we see these days on protecting theenvironment, it’s important for all of us to realize that somethingas small as changing a light bulb can make a big difference,” saidGoza.

Lions Club members agreeing to participate in the Change A Lightprogram were given the option of signing a pledge card at themeeting to change one regular light bulb in their house to acompact flourescent bulb. In return, they were each given aflourescent bulb to trade with a bulb in their homes.
