Dexter devours W. Lincoln

The visiting Dexter Bulldogs handed the winless West LincolnBears a tough 48-14 Region 4-1A loss Friday night on Perry MillerField. The victory avenged a West Lincoln win last season.

Dexter improved to 5-1 in the region and on the season. WestLincoln fell to 0-6 overall and 0-5 in region action.

“We played our best game that I have seen all year,” said WestLincoln head football coach Brook Burns. “With the exception ofseven turnovers, we played good offensively and defensively. Wewere able to control the line of scrimmage and get some good runs.We are capable to winning some games if we quit turning over theball.”

A 66-yard fumble return by Terrance Mark put Dexter on thescoreboard with 4:16 left in the first quarter. Mario Miller kickedhis first of 2 attempts to give the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead.

Dexter’s Jamaal Pittman scored on a 5-yard run at the 9:37 markin the second quarter to push the Bulldogs lead to 13-0.
