MEADVILLE — Note to Jamie Collins: Get well soon,because the Franklin County Bulldogs need you.

Playing without the services of standout juniorquarterback/strong safety Jamie Collins due to injury (backspasms), the FC Bulldogs suffered their second straight loss of theseason and their first homecoming defeat since 1998, falling to anupstart Jefferson County team 24-21 Friday night in Louie MullinsMemorial Stadium.

FC (4-2, 0-2) committed 5 turnovers which aided Jefferson Countyin the shocking upset.

The Tigers (5-1, 1-1) scored 18 unanswered points, aftertrailing the Bulldogs 14-0 in the first quarter. Franklin Countyplayed the entire game in desperate need of an offensive spark,playing three different players at QB in Ryne Tutor, Alex Smith andEdward Magee. Neither could get the Bulldogs going.

On the other side, Jefferson County quarterback Percy Turner, a6-foot-2, 195-pound senior, blossomed under pressure as he pickedthe FC defense apart with runs, throws, and trick-play catches.Turner hit senior wide out Kadon Day with a juggling TD receptionfrom 14-yards out late in the fourth quarter for the eventual gamewinner.
