Services for Betty Jean Williams, of Springfield, Mass., arenoon Tuesday, Oct. 23, at Alden Baptist Church with burial in OakGrove Cemetery. Harrell Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.
Calling hour will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. until the time of theservice at the church.
Mrs. Williams, 58, died Oct. 14, 2007, at her residence. She wasborn in Brookhaven to Fletcher and Elise (L.E.) Jackson.
She fought a long, courageous battle with cancer and showedtremendous strength, courage and dignity throughout these past fewyears. She loved life and spent it being a true blessing to all ofthose who knew her.
Mrs. Williams was educated in the Brookhaven schools and movedto Springfield in 1969, where she met and married her husband of 36years, Ollie Williams Sr.
Preceding her in death were her son, Ollie Williams Jr.
Survivors are her husband; her children, Felicia Jackson,Derrick Jackson and wife Nancy, and Robert Morris Jr.; hergrandson, Parrish Wallace, whom she was raising; her sisters, Mary,Nancy, Rubie and Dorothy Jackson, all of Springfield, and EarlineArnold, of Brookhaven; nine grandchildren; and many nieces,nephews, and other relatives and friends who loved her verymuch.
