Martha Marlene Smith Falvey

Services for Martha Marlene Smith Falvey, of Bogue Chitto, willbe held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, at Calvary Baptist Churchin Bogue Chitto with burial in the church cemetery. BrookhavenFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral homeon North Jackson Street.

Mrs. Falvey, 73, died Nov. 6, 2007, at Saint Dominic – JacksonMemorial Hospital in Jackson. She was born in Bogue Chitto on Feb.6, 1934, to Louis Smith and Alma Hart Smith.

She was a retired telephone operator with Bell South – AT&TTelephone Co. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brothers, Lee RoySmith and wife Beatrice, Troy Smith, Evan Smith, Woodrow Smith andwife Willene; and her sister, Mabel S. Leggett and husbandHomer.

Survivors are her husband, Charles Kenneth Falvey, of BogueChitto; her son, Bruce Anthony Falvey, of Bogue Chitto; herdaughter, Jacqueline “Jackie” Falvey Philliber and husband RobertC. “Joey” Philliber, of Lafayette, La.; and her grandchild, RaganRenee Philliber, of Nacogdoches, Texas.

Archie White Jr.

Services for Archie White Jr., of Brookhaven, were held at 11a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Southway Baptist Church in Brookhavenwith burial in Easthaven Cemetery in Brookhaven. Brookhaven FuneralHome on North Jackson Street was in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. at at the funeralhome, and on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time ofthe service.

Mr. White, 81, died Nov. 4, 2007, at Countrybrook Living Center.He was born in Brookhaven on Jan. 10, 1926, to Archie Farley Whiteand Palestine Lilly White.

He was a retired driver for the City of Brookhaven. He was amember of Southway Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was aveteran of the United States Navy and served during World WarII.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sisters, Bertie MaeClark, Glidie Johnson and Claudie Ruth Martin; and his brothers,Charlie White and Shelby White.

Survivors are his wife, Lavelle Lawrence White, of Brookhaven;his sons, Dennis Dale White and wife Linda, of Bogue Chitto, andRoger Lynn White and wife Frances, of Hope Mills, N.C.; his sister,Mizie Leggett, of Brookhaven; his nine grandchildren, 16great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and a hostof nieces and nephews.
