Services for Gettis Thames Rankin, of Wesson, are 1 p.m. Monday,Dec. 3, at Brookhaven Funeral Home, North Jackson Street location,with burial in Wesson Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Rankin, 95, died Nov. 30, 2007, at her daughter’sresidence. She was born in Lawrence County on Feb. 26, 1912, toJohn Dolphus Thames and Annie Jane Griffith Thames.

She was a seamstress. She was a member of Wesson Baptist Church,where she was a member of the Dorcas Sunday school class and theW.M.U.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, G. ClintRankin; her brothers, Kemit, Claude, Aubrey, and J.D. Thames; hersisters, Delta Mathis, Johnnie Lee Williamson, Nonnie Williamson,and Donis Letchworth.

Survivors are her sons, Gerald Clint Rankin and wife Annette, ofPride, La., and Thomas O. Rankin and wife Joan, of Lacey’s Springs,Ala.; her daughter, Barbara Jane Stegall and husband Freddie, ofWesson; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and severalnieces and nephews.
