Services for Alton Victor Jordan, of Bogue Chitto, were held at11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel withburial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Mr. Jordan, 83, died Dec. 9, 2007, at his residence. He was bornin Lincoln County on Dec. 22, 1923, to Homer Victor Jordan and OraWestrope Jordan.

He was a retired carpenter and an United States Army veteran ofWorld War II. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his niece, PeggyLingenfelter; his brothers, George Jordan, Cooper Jordan and LeoJordan; and his sister, Alma Smith.

Survivors are his niece, Deborah Davis and husband, Gary, ofBogue Chitto; his great-nephews, Chris Davis, of Bogue Chitto, andBen Lingenfelter, of Germany; and his great-niece, Jennifer Clark,of Bogue Chitto.
