Authorities still seeking clues in missing man investigation

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department officials are stillsearching for clues in the disappearance of a Lincoln County manwhose car was found in the northeastern corner of the countyearlier this week.

Travis Henderson, 27, was reported missing Tuesday night. Anabandoned car found at the corner of Bahalia Road and Sunset RoadMonday night was linked to him shortly thereafter.

“We’re running down leads, and trying to track him from the lastplaces he’s known to have been,” Sheriff Steve Rushing said.

Rushing said the family became worried when they had not heardfrom Henderson after a day or so.

“He’s had no contact with the family,” Rushing said.

The investigation, which is still a missing personsinvestigation, was kicked into high gear when the car, a ChevyCamaro, was identified as the one Henderson had been driving.

“The crime lab’s been down here to look at things found on theinside of the car,” Rushing said. “We’re still waiting on theresults to determine the nature of what was found in the car.”

Rushing said officials are looking for anyone who might knowanything about Henderson’s disappearance or possible whereabouts.So far there are no leads or suspects in Henderson’sdisappearance.

“We have no leads at this point,” Rushing said. “Right now we’rejust trying to get a general idea of where he was last seen andwhere he was going.”

Rushing said besides the state crime lab, the Mississippi Bureauof Investigation and the Mississippi Highway Patrol are aiding inthe investigation, as is the Brookhaven Police Department.
