Services for Louis Hiram Alexander, of Bogue Chitto, will beheld at noon on Monday, Jan. 14, at Pilgrim Bound MissionaryBaptist Church in Picayune with burial in Eighth Street Cemetery inPicayune. Tyler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Sunday from noon until 5 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Alexander, 63, died Jan. 7, 2008, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. He was born in New Orleans, La., on Sept. 6, 1944,to Louis Alexander and Myrtis Marie Robinson Alexander.
He was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School. Heearned a Bachelor of Science degree from Alcorn State University; amaster’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi inHattiesburg; and did further study at the University of Tennesseein Knoxville. He was a former educator and coach at Coahoma CountySchools, Yazoo County Schools, in Picayune, at the Piney WoodsSchool and with Brookhaven Public Schools. He was a member ofPilgrim Bound M.B. Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Dr. Dorothy Logan Alexander, of BogueChitto; and his son, Garry Jévonn Alexander, of Bogue Chitto.
