Charles A. Ballard

Services for Charles A. Ballard, of Jayess, will be held at 2p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel inMonticello with burial in Roberts Memorial Cemetery in Jayess.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Ballard, 80, died Jan. 15, 2008, in Lakeland, La. He wasborn in Lawrence County on March 23, 1927, to Berry James Ballardand Bessie May Thames Ballard.

He was retired from a full-time military career with the UnitedStates Marine Corps from 1948 until 1975. He was a veteran of theKorean and Vietnam wars.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, EstleeFlowers Ballard; his brother, James Lewis Ballard; his sisters,Bessie Ann Braugh, Doris Moses, Dorothy Luter and JoyceHerring.

Survivors are his son, Charles A. “Charlie” Ballard, ofGulfport; his daughter, Loretta Ballard, of Natchez; his sister,Cloyce Fay Jarreau, of Baker, La.; and his two grandchildren.
