Lona B. Bryant

Services for Lona B. Bryant, of Brookhaven, will be held at 2p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drivewith burial in Stronghope Baptist Church Cemetery in CopiahCounty.

Visitation is Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Bryant, 96, died Jan. 16, 2008, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. She was born in Hazlehurst on Jan. 20,1911, to S.S. Barber and Lonia Thompson Barber.

She was a retired school teacher with the Brookhaven SchoolSystem. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Brookhaven.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, the Rev.Milton Bryant; and her son, Milton Bryant Jr.

Survivors are her son, Joe Bryant, of Mandeville, La.; herdaughter, Faith Ferguson, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; her brother,Woodrow Barber, of Gulfport; her sisters, Ellen Marler, of Jackson,and Evelyn Thompson, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; her six grandchildrenand seven great-grandchildren.
