Rosalie McIntyre Mullins

Services for Rosalie McIntyre Mullins, of McCall Creek formerlyof Metairie, La., are 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at Lucien BaptistChurch with burial in Lucien Baptist Church Cemetery. BrookhavenFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mullins, 95, died Jan. 25, 2008, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. She was born in Lucien on Sept. 25, 1912, to JohnAdrain McIntyre and Rhoda Bianca Terrell McIntyre.

She was retired from Jefferson Parish School System in Metairie.She was a member of Lucien Baptist Church and Bridgedale BaptistChurch in Metairie.

She was a resident of Metairie for 53 years. She was active inbowling until age 89 and enjoyed gardening and traveling.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, JamesReuben Mullins; her brother, Walter McIntyre; her sister, EudoraMcIntyre Allred; her grandson, James Reuben Smith; hergranddaughters, Susan Celeste Ruffina and Kelly LaRue Mullins; andone infant son.

Survivors are her son, John Randall Mullins and wife Sandra, ofMcCall Creek; her daughters, Teresa M. Ruffina and husband Charles,of River Ridge, La., Phyllis M. Smith and husband Ronald P., ofMcCall Creek, Mona M. Williams and husband James, of Lynchburg,Va., and Bianca M. Redman and husband Peter W., of Duluth, Ga.; 28grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and twogreat-great-grandchildren.

Services for Michael Larry Smith, of Jayess, are 2 p.m. Tuesday,Jan. 29, at Bethel Temple Pentecostal Church on Highway 84 East,Brookhaven, with burial in Powell’s Grove Cemetery. Hartman-HughesFuneral Home in Tylertown is in charge of arrangements. The Revs.Steven Williams and Randall Garcia will officiate.

Visitation is Monday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Smith, 42, died Jan. 26, 2008, following a battle withMuscular Dystrophy. He was born April 22, 1965, in Tylertown. He isthe son of the late Larry Smith and Barbara Ann Freeman Hill, ofFranklinton, La.

He had worked in the insurance; trucking; telemarketing/sales;and finance industries before his illness. He was a member ofBethel Temple Pentecostal Church.

Preceding him in death were his father; his grandparents, Percyand Johnnie Mae Smith; Alvie and Odie Freeman; an uncle, GlenSmith; an aunt, Helen Smith Dillon; and a nephew, NathanJohnson.

He is survived by his mother; his wife, Shelia Lee Smith, ofJayess; a son, Michael Ray Smith, of Jayess; a daughter, WhitneySmith, of Jayess; two brothers, Mark and Matthew Smith, both ofBogalusa, La.; a sister, Melissa Desmond, of Mandeville, La.;nieces and nephews; his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lee, ofJayess; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family,friends and church family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethel TempleUPC Building Fund; Community (Horizon) Hospice of McComb, Miss.; orthe Muscular Dystrophy Association of Tucson, Ariz.
