Services for Virgie Mae Dixon Brothern, of Brookhaven, will beheld at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, at Damascus Missionary BaptistChurch in Brookhaven with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery inBrookhaven. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home,with family hour from 6 until 7 p.m.

Mrs. Brothern, 74, died Jan. 26, 2008, at Hospice Ministries inRidgeland. She was born in Wesson on March 12, 1933, to Tom Dixonand Martha Dixon.

She was retired. She was a member of Damascus M.B. Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, NathanielBrothern; her sister, Ardella Sanders; and her brothers, O.C.Dixon, Herman Dixon, J. Hugh Dixon and Thomas Carl Dixon.

Survivors are her sons, Raymond Dixon and wife Dorothy, andDerick Dixon and wife Sandra, all of Brookhaven, and Marvin Dixonand wife Melinda, of Bogue Chitto; her daughters, Maxine Allen andhusband Brady, of Bogue Chitto, Darlene Leggett and husband Edward,of Wesson, and Dorothy Wortham and husband Micah, of Clinton, Md.;her stepson, Edward Holmes and wife Dorothy, of Brookhaven; hersisters, Ruby Martin, of Brookhaven, Lentee Clemons and husbandHarold, of Lansing, Mich., Betsy Smith, of Inwood, N.Y., and MableDixon, of Brookhaven; her brothers, Albert Dixon and wife Lucille,of Brookhaven, and L.C. Dixon and wife Jeanette, of Lansing; her 19grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends.
