Marvin Lester Carlock
Services for Marvin Lester Carlock, of Bude, will be held at 11a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Siloam Baptist Church on Highway 98 inFranklin County with burial in the church cemetery. MarshallFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Carlock, 76, died Feb. 3, 2008, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born in Bude on June 17,1931, to Hiram and Irene Rollins Carlock.
He worked with Franklin Promotions. He was a member of the BudeFire Department and the Masonic Lodge.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his sisters, MaudeGolman and Ruth Cosby; and his granddaughter, Amy Lynn Hodges.
Survivors are his loving and devoted wife, Wilma Carlock, ofBude; his daughters, Kathy Hodges, of Meadville, and Lori Barber,of Winnfield, La.; his son, Marvin Clay Carlock, of Florence; hisbrothers, Kirby Carlock, of Natchez, Hiram Carlock Jr., of McCallCreek, and Rufus Carlock, of Mountain Home, Ark.; one grandson; anda host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Michael L. ‘Mike’ Finch
Services for Michael L. “Mike” Finch, of Monticello, will beheld at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, at Hulett-Winstead Funeral HomeChapel in Hattiesburg with burial in Moselle Memory Garden Cemeteryin Moselle.
Visitation is on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of theservice.
Mr. Finch, 69, died Feb. 3, 2008, at his residence.
He was a funeral director with Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home. Hewas a member of Carmel Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Lolette Jones Finch, of Monticello; hissons, Jim Finch, of Decatur, Ala., Darrell Finch, of Seminary, andSean Finch, of Portsmouth, Va.; his daughter, Jennifer Peoples, ofLacey, Wash.; his sister, Sherrie McCall, of Magee; his 11grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Robert Conley Hill
Services for Robert Conley Hill, of Monticello, will be held at2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel inMonticello, with burial in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery inMonticello.
Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Hill, 83, died Feb. 4, 2008, at Lawrence County Hospital. Hewas born in Lawrence County on May 20, 1924, to Miles O. Hill andNora Rebecca Lambert Hill.
He was a retired welder. He was a veteran of the United StatesArmy and a member of Carmel Baptist Church. He was a member of theMonticello Masonic Lodge and Shriners.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wives, Ethel KingHill and Ora Lee Mason Hill; his son, Billy Hill; and his brother,Gene Hill.
Survivors are his daughters, Linda H. Douglas and Connie HillArd, both of Monticello; his sisters, Bonnie Ruth Hearn and ZeldaDavis, both of Monticello, Donnis Lambert, of Silver Creek, andOpal Leggett, of Brookhaven; his seven grandchildren; 14great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Dan Allen Martin
Services for Dan Allen Martin, of Brookhaven, will be held at 2p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel onNatchez Drive with burial in Union Hall Baptist Church Cemetery inBrookhaven.
Visitation was held on Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Martin, 77, died Feb. 3, 2008, at his residence. He was bornin New Orleans on May 3, 1930, to Daniel R. Woods and Alma MartinWoods.
He was retired from his self-employed welding business. Weldingwas not only his occupation, but a hobby, as well, although hisfavorite hobby was his family. He was a member of Union HallBaptist Church, where he loved singing in the choir and served as aSunday school teacher.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, Ernest M.Martin; and his grandson, Joseph Martin.
Survivors are his wife, Bessie May Martin, of Brookhaven; hisson, Dan D. Martin and wife Leah, of Brookhaven; his daughters,Sheila Martin, and Mildred Cain Allen and husband Gary, all ofBrookhaven; his daughter-in-law, Cindy Odom Martin, of Brookhaven;his brothers, Glen Woods and wife Marianne, of Destin, Fla., andCarl Johnson and wife Karen, of Alvin, Texas; his grandchildren,April Burns and husband Kyle, Ernest D. Martin, Brandy Posey andhusband Justin, Josh Martin and wife Amber, Jacob Martin and wifeAshley, Jessi Martin, Christopher Martin and wife Hope, KatherineMoak and husband Dustin, David Cain; his great-grandchildren,Ashlyn, Chloe and Hayden Burns, Charli Anna Posey, Conner Martin,Aibry Martin and Haleigh Moak; his special niece, Donna Marie OrrSmith; his special nephew, Vernon Parsons; a special great-nephewhe thought of as a grandson, Guy Orr; and a host of nieces andnephews he loved very much.
