Services for Marvin “Buddy” King, of Brookhaven, will be held at2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel inMeadville with burial in First Pentecostal Church Cemetery inBude.
Visitation is Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the serviceat the funeral home.
Mr. King, 97, died Feb. 14, 2008, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Franklin County on April 26, 1910, to JohnC. King and Eunice Hastings King.
He was a retired security guard. He was a member of Solid RockPentecostal Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army andthe National Guard.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his daughter, ClaudiaEmfinger; his brothers, Joe King and Norwood “Teeny” King; and hissister, Marguerite Herbert.
Survivors are his wife, Bessie Hodges King, of Brookhaven; hisdaughters, Kathy LaBauve, of Alexandria, La., and Joyce McGhee, ofZachary, La.; his brother, Jack King, of Roxie; his sister, DorisYoungblood, of Burkburnette, Texas; the mother of his daughters,Virginia Ward; his eight grandchildren and 19great-grandchildren.
