Emma P. Davis
Services for Emma P. Davis, of New York, will be held at 11 a.m.on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Fair Hill Missionary Baptist Church inOma with burial in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Oma. R.E. TylerFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until thetime of the service.
Mrs. Davis, 64, died Feb. 13, 2008, in New York. She was born inLawrence County on Dec. 27, 1943, to Earnest Davis and Verna MayDavis.
She was an administrative assistant.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors are her brother, Jimmie Davis, of Jonesboro, La.; andher sisters, Catherlene Davis, of Oma, and Earnestine Hanner, ofNew York.
Mignone Calcote Roberts
Services for Mignone Calcote Roberts will be held Wednesday,February twentieth at eleven am at The Episcopal Church of theRedeemer, preceded by visitation in Cannon Hall at ten am.Interment at Rosehill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the home of her son, John SaulsRoberts, Jr., on Tuesday, February nineteenth from six until eightpm at five hundred and thirty-six South Jackson Street.
Mignone was born on November thirteenth in the year of nineteenhundred and thirtytwo to Dan and Jewel Ainsworth Calcote in LincolnCounty. She attended high school at Whitworth College, attendedSouthwest Mississippi Junior College and graduated fromSoutheastern Louisiana University. While raising four children, sheopened a women’s clothing store, The Sassy Cat. She was an officerfor Claiborne Natural Gas, a conservative land manager, a member ofthe Daughters of the American Revolution, and a charter member ofThe Brookhaven Trust.
She was preceded in death by John Sauls Roberts, Sr, herparents, a sister and two brothers.
She is survived by her son, John Sauls Roberts, Jr., MelodyRoberts, Misty Perry and her husband, Brian; and Mimi Zeini and herhusband, Asem; her grandchildren, Meagan Turpin, Graham Perry,Mignone Perry, Isabel Perry, Camille Perry and John Merritt Howard;and great grandchildren, Mckenzi Turpin, Anderson Turpin andMarshall Turpin; and her dear friends, Joanne Damico and Liz Anton.Mignone was an active member at the First Baptist Church inBrookhaven.
Pallbearers are LaRue Baker, Adam Calcote, Joe Cox, RogerLeggett, Randy Sykes and Earl Taylor.
In lieu of flowers, donations may made to the American DiabetesAssociation, the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, The BrookhavenTrust or the Ole Miss Alumni Association.
