Willie Mae Bibbins

Services for Willie Mae Bibbins, of Centreville, will be held at11 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, at St. John Baptist Church No. 1 inWoodville with burial in the church cemetery. Marshall Funeral Homeis in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the serviceat the church.

Mrs. Bibbins, 78, died March 8, 2008, at Field Memorial Hospitalin Centreville. She was born in Wilkinson County on Sept. 9, 1929,to Alford and Hattie Black.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, JamesBibbins; and three sisters.

Survivors are her five loving children, James Bibbins, RubyHampton, Nathaniel Bibbins, Ezral Bibbins and Frank Bibbins; hersisters, Annie Lee, Louise and Estell; her brothers, Levi andLeonard; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and a host ofnieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

LeRoy ‘Lee’ Herring Jr.

Services for LeRoy “Lee” Herring Jr., of Monticello, were heldat 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, at Brookhaven Funeral Home onNorth Jackson Street with burial in Harmony Baptist ChurchCemetery.

Visitation was held on Tuesday evening.

Mr. Herring, 55, died March 8, 2008, in New Orleans, La. He wasborn in Lincoln County on Sept. 16, 1952, to Katie Sue BrentHerring and LeRoy Herring Sr.

He was a self-employed contractor. He was a member of HarmonyBaptist Church.

His father preceded him in death.

Survivors are his mother, Katie Sue Herring, of Brookhaven; hisbrother, Richard Herring and wife Brenda, of Brookhaven; hissister, Tawana H. Boyd, of Brookhaven; and his 10 nieces andnephews.

Pallbearers were John Boyd, Jeremy Herring, Kevin Herring, DannyBrent, Freddie Herring and Dale Herring. Brent Boyd was honorarypallbearer.

Nellie Parker Johnson

Services for Nellie Parker Johnson, of Brookhaven, will be heldat 1 p.m. on Friday, March 14, at Kynett Pilgrim United MethodistChurch in Brookhaven with burial in Carver Heights Cemetery inBrookhaven. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Johnson, 96, died March 7, 2008, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. She was born in Waterproof, La., on Jan. 19, 1912,to Will Blackmon and Toria Blackmon.

She was retired. She joined Kynett Pilgrim United MethodistChurch in 1941, and was the oldest member of the church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, LouisParker Sr. and Albert Johnson; her sons, George Parker and LouisParker Jr.; her sisters, Weda Allen and Gladis Williams; herbrothers, Roosevelt Blackmon and Woodrow Blackmon; and herstepsons, Robert Earl Johnson, George A. Johnson and ElijahJohnson.

Survivors are her daughters, Artoria Dixon and husband Robert,of Brookhaven, Helen Breazell and husband Willie, of ColoradoSprings, Colo., Mary Carter and husband Johnny, of Seattle, Wash.,Margaret Victor and husband Rena, of Newark, N.J., and BettyParker, of Seattle; her sisters, Bessie Cockerham and Ella Elliott,both of New Orleans, La.; her daughters-in-law, Patricia Parker,Tiny Parker and Brenda Parker, all of Brookhaven; her 24grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Norma Louise Thomas

Services for Norma Louise Thomas, of Bogue Chitto, will be heldat 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, at Riverwood Family FuneralService Chapel with burial in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Thomas, 69, died March 11, 2008, at Lacombe Nursing Centerin Lacombe, La. She was born on May 20, 1938, to Oscar Vallery andEllen Norsworthy Vallery.

She was retired from New Haven Recovery Center. She was a memberof Wise Memorial Baptist Church in Lena, La. She was a member ofWomen of the Moose Lodge No. 1967.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, BillyPayne Thomas Sr.; and a son, Ricky Thomas.

Survivors are her sons, Billy Thomas and wife Sandra, and MarkWayne Thomas and wife Melissa, all of Brookhaven; her daughter,Rebecca Louise “Becky” Lodes and husband Mike, of Picayune; hersisters, Mary Vercher, of New Iberia, La., and Carol Kilpatrick, ofBastrop, La.; her seven grandchildren and ninegreat-grandchildren.
