Services for Brooks Ashton Smith, of Brookhaven, are 4 p.m.Sunday, March 16, at Riverwood Family Funeral Services Chapel withburial in Riverwood Memorial Park.

Brooks, 10, died March 13, 2008, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born on May 6, 1997, to Mark Ashton Smith and KathyCase Smith.

He was a fifth grader at West Lincoln School. He was a member ofGum Grove Baptist Church.

Brooks was active in youth baseball, basketball and soccer. Heloved to hunt with his Dad and enjoyed being with his friends.

Preceding him in death were his paternal great-grandparents,Russell Smith, of Brookhaven, and Mr. and Mrs. Lenwood O. King, ofHolden, La.; and his maternal great-grandparents, Houston and AnnieDurr, of Brookhaven, and Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Case, ofBrookhaven.

Survivors are his parents; his brother, Cole Paxton Smith; hisaunt, Kimberly Mitchell and husband Wayne, of Madison; his uncles,Les Case, and Jason Smith and wife Heather, all of Brookhaven; hiscousins, Grant Abbey, of Madison, Anna Katelyn, Jacob, Jonah andJackson Smith, all of Brookhaven, and Samantha Mitchell, ofBandera, Texas; his maternal grandparents, Leston and Judy Case, ofBrookhaven; his paternal grandparents, Cameron and Linda Smith, ofMadison; and his paternal great-grandmother, Thelma SnyderSmith.
