Services for Bettye Sue Wilkins Alexander, of Meadville, will beheld at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, at Meadville Baptist Churchwith burial in Midway Cemetery. Franklin Funeral Home in Meadvilleis in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home,and on Wednesday at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of theservice.

Mrs. Alexander died March 29, 2008, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Louin on March 17, 1931, to Clinton A. andRuby Martin Wilkins. She was the oldest of five children.

She graduated from Bay Springs High School in 1949. She attendedJones County Junior College and Mississippi State College forWomen. She retired from the Franklin County School System in 1998after 30 and a half years as a bus driver and teacher’s assistant.She was a member of Franklin American Legion Auxiliary No. 40,Franklin Women’s Club and Meadville Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 37years, Monte E. Alexander; one brother, Billy Martin Wilkins, ofZachary, La.; and one sister, Abbie Ruth Hinkins, of Demopolis,Ala.

Survivors are her daughter, Melinda A. Bradford; her son, DavidWilkins Alexander; her grandsons, Joshua L. Bradford and Jacob M.Bradford; and granddog, CJ, all of Meadville; her brothers, JamesDonald Wilkins and wife Doris, of Bay Springs, and Pat A. Wilkinsand wife Kathleen, of Houston, Texas; and her sister-in-law,Georgia Wilkins, of Zachary.
