Time again for spring cleaning with KLCB

Keep Lincoln County Beautiful, state and county officials overthe next month are offering citizens a little help with theirspring cleaning.

Through the use of large bins placed around the county onweekends this month and early next, citizens have the opportunityto dispose of for free, furniture, mattresses and other large itemsthat are costly or difficult to get rid of normally. In addition,batteries, tires and white goods may be placed on the ground nearthe garbage receptacle for removal.

This is the first weekend for the service, which is being doneas part of the Great American Cleanup. This weekend, the garbagebins are located on Monticello Street just east of County FarmRoad.

The rest of the schedule includes the following dates andlocations:

April 10-14– Brignall Voting Precinct,intersection of Howard Road and Brignall Road.

April 17-21– Highway 51 South and BristerStreet, Bogue Chitto.

April 24-28– Intersection of Jackson-LibertyRoad and West Lincoln Drive.

May 1-5 – James Case’s Store, CaliforniaRoad.

Furniture, mattresses, TVs, clothes, building materials andsimilar items may be placed in the bins. Batteries, tires and whitegoods (refrigerators, air conditioners, stoves, etc.) should beplaced on the ground near the bin.

No paint, oil or household garbage is allowed. Also, while oneman’s trash could be another man’s treasure, officials sayscavenging among the left items is not to be done.
