Moore hired to lead Co-Lin soccer teams

WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln Community College Athletic Director GwynYoung has announced that Brian Moore of Brookhaven will take overthe men’s and women’s soccer programs for the 2008 season. Moorereplaces Frank Smith who had started the turnaround of what hadpreviously been a program, which had struggled through many tryingseasons.

Moore has been involved in youth and high school soccer inmultiple roles for the past several years. He has served aspresident, coach, and referee for the Brookhaven Youth SoccerOrganization (BYSO). He is currently serving as director ofcoaching for BYSO. He has also worked with the MHSAA as a refereefor the past six years and achieved “Official of the Year” for theregion in 2007.

Moore currently holds a “D” coaching license and states that heplans to continue to pursue additional certification anddevelopment in the future.

“I appreciate the opportunity that the school has presented, andI hope to continue in the positive direction that the previouscoaching staff has started to steer the program,” Moore said. “Ihave had success at every age group, including young men and womenof college age. Those successes have been on the recreational leveland I am looking forward to the challenge of an extremelycompetitive JUCO season.”

Moore is married to the former Kristyn Broussard of Berwick, La.They have two children, Sara, 15 and Hayden, 2. They reside inBrookhaven and attend The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer wherethey are both very active. Moore serves as a Vestry member, andmember of the finance and recreation committees.

Moore is also active in other projects in the community. Heworked on the construction of Kids Kingdom Park and is active inthe Brookhaven Little Theater having served as a former boardmember.
