Carrie Marie (Woodie) Day Nicholson
Services for Carrie Marie (Woodie) Day Nicholson, of Pensacola,Fla., are 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 25, at Harper-Morris MemorialChapel in Pensacola with Dr. Wesley Wachob officiating.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, atHawkins Chapel United Methodist Church in Brookhaven.
Mrs. Nicholson, 89, died May 23, 2008. She was born inBrookhaven on Nov. 3, 1918, to Byron and Carrie Campbell Day.
She was a 1936 graduate of Brookhaven High School and a 1940graduate of Mississippi State College for Women, where she earned abachelor of science degree.
Mrs. Nicholson taught school for several years in Mississippi.In 1948, she met and married Elmer C. (Nick) Nicholson Jr. She wasa loving housewife who enjoyed being close to family and friends.She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death were her loving husband; three brothers,Herman Day, Stanley Day and Ulric Lee Day; and two sisters, BessieDay Oberschmidt and Mildred Day Entrican.
Survivors are her only son, Tim Nicholson and fiancee, JaniceAbner, both of Pensacola; and several nieces and nephews inBrookhaven and Pensacola.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Feedthe Children, P.O. Box 36, Oklahoma City, OK 73101.
Robert Smith Jr.
Services for Robert Smith Jr., of Bude, were Saturday, May 24,at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Bude with burial inMeadville/New Fork Cemetery.
Mr. Smith, 91, died May 17, 2008, at Franklin Memorial Hospitalin Meadville. He was born in Jefferson County on March 7, 1917, toAnnie Wallace and Robert Smith Sr.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his companion, Gloria Jean Cameron, of Bude; hisson, Kenneth Walker, of Bude; his stepsons, David Walker and wifeAnnette, of Meadville, and Larry Bee, of Bude; one granddaughter;and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
