Services for Arthur Dale Boyte, of Brookhaven, were 11 a.m.Saturday, June 14, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on North JacksonStreet with burial in Heuck’s Retreat Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Boyte, 80, died June 12, 2008, at Pine Crest Nursing Home inHazlehurst. He was born in Lincoln County on April 19, 1928, toArchie Dale Boyte and Carrie Ward Boyte.

He was a carpenter contractor. He was a member of Heuck’sRetreat Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Yvonne AndingBoyte; and his daughter, Ramona Gay Boyte.

Survivors are his sons, Tim Boyte and wife, Patricia, of BogueChitto, and Tommy Boyte and wife, Robbie, of Loyd Star; hisdaughter, Diane Van and husband, Skip, of McComb; his brothers,Harvey Boyte, of Natchez, and Mac Boyte, of Florence; and his eightgrandchildren, Neal Boyte and wife, Lindsey, Jo Ellen Boyte, AprilBoyte, Chad Walker, Marty Walker, Thomas Boyte, Bobby Price andStephanie Price; and six great-grandchildren.

Rachel Louise Brewer

Services for Rachel Louise Brewer, of Crystal Springs, were 10a.m. Saturday, June 14, at Springs of Praise Church in CrystalSprings with burial in Gallman Cemetery.

Mrs. Brewer, 75, died June 12, 2008, at St. Dominic-JacksonMemorial Hospital in Jackson. She was born Oct. 30, 1932, to WalterWilliam Barker and Mattie Senora Barker.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Denice Sanders; asister, Mattie Merle Thornton; and two grandsons, Jason Brewer andTravis Courtney.

Survivors include her husband, David Henry Brewer Jr., ofCrystal Springs; two sons, David William Brewer and wife, Susie, ofCrystal Springs, and Dennis Brewer and wife, Tammie, of Brookhaven;daughters, Linda Jones and husband, Bo, of Terry, and PamelaJohnson and husband, Dennis, of Crystal Springs; her brother,William Barker and wife, Brenda, of Natchez; her sister, EvelynWilliams, of Katy, Texas; 21 grandchildren; and numerousgreat-grandchildren.

Ollie Denise ‘Sweetie’ Briggs

Services for Ollie Denise “Sweetie” Briggs, of Roxie, were 2p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Meadville withburial in Briggs Cemetery in Kirby.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 5 p.m. at Marshall FuneralHome Chapel in Bude and Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m. at thechurch.

Mrs. Briggs, 48, died June 10, 2008, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. She was born in Jackson on April27, 1960, to Rosie L. Moore and Troy B. Burkett.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her niece, TammieMcDonald.

Survivors are her husband, Elbert Briggs, of Kirby; herstepfather, Forest Moore, of Bude; her three daughters, SurenthiaPurvis, Chonda Briggs and Gretta Harris, all of Kirby; her threesons, Javonta Briggs, Elbert Briggs Jr. and Marcus Briggs, all ofKirby; her four sisters, Mary McDonald, of Meadville, SheliaBriggs, of Kirby, Martina Burkett, of Magee, and Teanna Smith, ofBude; her four brothers, Don Moore, of Byram, Thomas Moore, ofBude, Mark Smith, of Roxie, and Reggie Cameron, New Orleans, La.;seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relativesand friends.

Graveside services for Lena McCants, of Richmond, Texas, were 11a.m. on Saturday, June14, at Mt. Olive M.B. Church. Tyler FuneralHome is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McCants, 66, died June 6 , 2008, in Texas. She was born inFranklin County on May 12, 1942, to Andrew Bell and MargaretBell.

She was a retired nurse.

Preceding her in death were her father, Andrew Bell; and hermother, Margaret Bell.

Survivors are her husband Rubin McCants, of Richmond; her son,Alfred McCants, of Richmond; her brother, Andrew Bell, ofMeadville; and her sister, Evie Shaw, of McComb.

Mary Constance ‘Connie’ Shiel

Services for Mary Constance “Connie” Shiel, of Park Hills, Mo.,were Friday, June 13, at Mission Hill Baptist Church in LincolnCounty.

Mrs. Shiel, 49, formerly of Brookhaven, died June 5, 2008, ather residence in Park Hills of an apparent heart attack.

She was a lifelong dog groomer. She loved animals, hunting andfishing.

She was a graduate of Brookhaven High School.

Preceding her in death were her mother, Mary Yvonne Shiel; andher brother, Royce E. Shiel.

Survivors are her father, Royce N. “Sonny” Shiel; herstepmother, Gearldene Shiel, of Brookhaven; her daughter, Lana W.Schultz and son-in-law, Edward Schultz, of Illinois.

Services for Sherry Lynn Burns Starnes, of Pearl, were 10 a.m.Thursday, June 12, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel inBrookhaven with burial in Cold Springs Church of Christ Cemetery inBogue Chitto.

Mrs. Starnes, 43, died June 7, 2008, in Whitesburg, Tenn. Shewas born on Oct. 31, 1964, to Troy Burns and Phyllis Toney BurnsFaulkner.

Her greatest joy and accomplishment in life were her threechildren.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Lillian and TedBurns; her grandmother, Jean Faulkner; her grandfather, Carl Toney;and her brother; Carl Lyvell Burns.
