Natchez knocks out Americans

Natchez eliminated the Lincoln County American League All-Stars10-4 Monday night at Keystone Park, exploding for 6 runs in the topof the eighth inning. Winning pitcher Trey Fleming went 6.2 inningsand struck out 13 batters in relief. Fleming held the Americansscoreless and allowed just 1 hit in the Dixie Youth Baseball Major11s North Subdistrict Six Tournament.
Pitcher Quinn Logan started for Natchez and gave up four,first-inning runs.
Duncan Bane was charged with the loss. In 1.2 innings, Baneallowed 6 runs, 5 hits, no walks and no strikeouts.
Caleb Yarborough started for Lincoln County and was replaced byJohn Paul Jackson in the fifth. Chas Acy replaced Bane in theeighth.
Natchez tied the game at 4-4 in the fifth.
Lincoln County got 4 hits in the game. Singles came fromBane,Yarborough, Clay Crozier and Josh Herring .
Natchez got 3 doubles and 5 RBIs from Logan as his team poundedout 13 hits. Jaylon Fleming singled and tripled. Ben Hewitt singledtwice.
Unbeaten Natchez plays once-beaten Wesson tonight at 6 p.m. inthe championship finals of the double-elimination tournament.
