NATCHEZ – The Natchez all-stars outscored Lincoln County 21-9Tuesday night at Covington Park and captured the Dixie BoysBaseball 14s District Tournament. Lincoln County had forced a thirdgame in the best-of-three series by defeating Natchez 9-4 Monday,collecting 16 hits.

Last Saturday, Natchez had pulled out a 13-12 victory in 8innings.,

“Natchez hit the ball in the gaps,” said Lincoln County coachKelly Allred. “I’m proud of our guys. They looked good.”

Sawyer Hudson started on the mound for Lincoln County. Hudsonlasted 3.2 innings, giving up 4 hits, and walking 3.

Seth Porter replaced Hudson on the mound and went 1.1 innings..Zach Ashley replaced Porter in the fifth.

Natchez sprang to an early 3-0 lead. The Lincoln Countianscaught hem at 3-3 and went up 5-3 before Natchez rallied.

Natchez scored 8 runs in the seventh.

At the plate, left-fielder Drew Jones singled twice and doubled,collecting 3 RBIs for Lincoln County. Catcher E.J. Hendersonsingled and tripled.

Natchez advances to the state tournament in Hattiesburg,starting July 18.
