C.M. ‘Mutt’ Smith

Services for C.M. “Mutt” Smith, of Brookhaven, are 10 a.m.Wednesday, July 23, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drivewith burial in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Smith, 69, died July 21, 2008, at his residence surroundedby his family. He was born in Lincoln County on Oct. 19, 1938, toW. Vernon Smith and Ivy Pearl Case Smith.

He was a retired construction welder. He was a member of UnionBaptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, LaverneSmith.

Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Betty Lee Dunaway Smith, ofBrookhaven; a son, Stacy M. Smith, of Brookhaven; a daughter, CindyLee Laird and husband, Billy, of Brookhaven; his sisters, JeanKimble, of Vicksburg, Nita Sue Smith and Betty Walker, both ofBrookhaven, and Margaret Ann Watts, of Baton Rouge, La.; and histwo grandchildren, Shelby Lee Smith and Candace Lee Laird, both ofBrookhaven.
