Cora Mae Hall Murray

Services for Cora Mae Hall Murray, of McCall Creek, were 10 a.m.Monday, July 28, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on Natchez Drivewith burial in Ramah Baptist Church Cemetery in FranklinCounty.

Mrs. Murray, 82, died July 26, 2008, at the University ofMississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was born in LincolnCounty on Oct. 9, 1925, to Feddie Hall and Tressia Kyzar Hall.

She was a homemaker. She was affiliated with the Church ofGod.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, AlfredMurray; a brother, R.J. Hall and a great-grandson, John AlfredMurray.

Survivors are her son, Lemuel Murray and wife, Jean, of McCallCreek; a daughter, Janice Allen and husband, A.J., of McCall Creek;a sister, Laura Bell Wood, of Brookhaven; her four grandchildren,Kevin Allen, Brant Murray, Janet Allen Halford and Kristy MurrayArnold; and her 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brant Murray, Kevin Allen, Brad Arnold,Charles Calcote, Zack Harveston and Roger Halford.

Carlos Radell Whitley

Services for Carlos Radell Whitley, of Bogue Chitto, are 11 a.m.Wednesday, July 30, at New Morning Star Baptist Church in Ferriday,La., with burial in Natchez National Cemetery. Marshall FuneralHome in Brookhaven is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Collin’sTemple Church of God in Christ in Bogue Chitto with family presentfrom 7 until 9 p.m. at New Morning Star Baptist Church, andWednesday from 9 until 11 a.m. at New Morning Star BaptistChurch.

Mr. Whitley, 42, died July 23, 2008, in the Bogue Chitto area.He was born in Ferriday on Nov. 30, 1965, to Willie Morris Whitleyand Verna Whitley-Batiste.

He was a graduate of Ferriday High School and attended NortheastLouisiana University where he received a Bachelor of Arts incriminal justice. He worked in a family-owned logging company.

Preceding him in death were his father, a brother, Carlton R.Whitley; his grandparents, the Rev. Cornelius Ross and Alice Wadeand Sandy Whitley Sr. and Dorothy Whitley.

Survivors are his mother; his wife, Dorothy Heckard Whitley; hisdaughters, Cheterrica Whitley, Caitlyn Whitley, Kaylin Heckard andKa Sheya Heckard; his three sisters; his two brothers; and a hostof aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
