Services for Flavius H. Smith, 78, of Natchez, who died Aug. 16,2008, at his residence, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at McNeely RoadChurch of God with the Rev. Steve Bullion and the Rev. JuliusRoberts officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under thedirection of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Mr. Smith was born April 25, 1930, in Franklin County to Nick S.and Mattie Strait Smith. He was a member of McNeely Road Church ofGod and enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing.
Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his parents; his fivebrothers, Lawston Smith, Percy Smith, Odie Smith, Cecil Smith andHerman Smith; his five sisters, Eunilee Smith, Monell Smith, LottieSmith, Mattie Rea Terrell and Mavis Bruner.
Survivors include his wife of 58 ½ years, Pauline Day Smith; histhree daughters, Dr. Angie Bukley, of Estell Springs, Tenn.,Stephanie Butts and husband, Russell, of Natchez, Melanie Butlerand husband, William, of Glen Allen, Va.; his six grandchildren,Russ Butts, Hayden Butts, Molly Butts, Andrew Butler, Austin Butlerand Amanda Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Russell Butts, Russ Butts, Hayden Butts,Andrew Butler, Ausitn Butler, Williams Butler and SpencerSmith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wes Halford, Dick Smith, RayfordSmith, Hollis Allred, W.C. McCurly, James Taylor, Roy Smith, RogerSmith and Roy Buckles.
