Hattie Hughes

Services for Hattie Hughes, of Lynwood, Ill., are noon Saturday,Sept. 6, at Mt. Wade Missionary Baptist Church in Brookhaven withburial in Carver Heights Cemetery in Brookhaven. R.E. Tyler FuneralHome is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Saturday from 11 a.m. until noon at thechurch.

Mrs. Hughes, 92, died Aug. 30, 2008, at St. James Hospital andHealth Center in Chicago Heights, Ill. She was born in CopiahCounty on July 22, 1916, to Dawson Roundtree and PinkieRoundtree.

She was a member of Mt. Wade Missionary Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, JohnieHughes; a son, Johnie Jerome Hughes; a daughter, Evelyn HughesCopeland; her three brothers, Robert, George and Versie Roundtree;her four sisters, Rosie Lee Johnson, Willie Mae Gilmore, JennieFairman and Lula Mae Tillman.

Survivors are her daughters, Mary Thomas, of Lynwood, AmandaHubbard, of Raymond, and Pinkie Williams, of Memphis, Tenn.; hersix grandchildren; and her six great-grandchildren.

Joyce Elaine Sykes

Services for Joyce Elaine Sykes, of Bogue Chitto, are 1 p.m.Friday, Sept. 5, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel withburial in Arlington Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto.

Visitation is Friday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Sykes, 57, died Aug. 30, 2008, at her residence. She wasborn on Dec. 12, 1950, to Charles Harvey Nettles and Dorothy MaeGreer Nettles.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Arlington BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death was her mother.

Survivors are her father; her husband of 15 years, Gary LeeSykes; her sons, Torbin James Ordogne, Timothy Scott Davis andDouglas “Tony” Anthony Davis; his daughters, Jessica Sykes Williamsand Andrean Sykes Williams; a brother, Charles Gregory Nettles; asister, Charlotte Ann Nichols; her 10 grandchildren, DonavonAnthony Davis, Kaci Corinne Davis, Aleah Rebecca Ragland, Kalee’Anna Davis, Devin Scott Davis, Jonathon Davis, Cheyenne DekotaKeeton, Madison Lynn Keeton, Abigail Elizabeth Keeton and MasonBlane Williams; and a great-great-grandchild, Shantley Day MarieDavis.

Clifton Warren Wayne Tynes

Services for Clifton Warren Wayne Tynes, of Monticello, are 11a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at Monticello United Methodist Church withburial in Masonic Cemetery in Monticello.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at Wilson FuneralHome in Monticello.

Mr. Tynes, 15, died Sept. 1, 2008, at The University ofMississippi Medical Center in Jackson after a vehicle accidentinvolving an ATV and a truck. He was born on Jan. 26, 1993, toJoseph Warren Tynes and Kimberly Anne Farnham Tynes.

He was a ninth grader at Lawrence County High School and amember of JROTC. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors are his parents; a brother, Joseph “Will” WilsonTynes, of Monticello; and a sister, Jennafer C. Tynes, ofMonticello.
