Services for William Ratcliff “Papa” Westbrook Jr., of BogueChitto, are 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Harrigill Funeral HomeChapel with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Westbrook, 90, died Oct. 7, 2008, at his residence. He wasborn in Louisiana on Feb. 10, 1918, to W.R. “Bill” Westbrook Sr.and Susie Kirkwood Westbrook.

He retired from Exxon as a crew foreman in Baton Rouge, La. Hewas a graduate of Baker High School in Baker, La. Mr. Westbrook wasa U.S. Navy veteran having served during World War II. He was alsoa Mason for more than 50 years. He raised chickens, pigs and goats.He was a member of First Baptist Church in Baker.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Ida B.Lambert Westbrook; a sister, Eloise W. Williamson; and agrandchild, William Lester “Shad” Freeman.

Survivors are his son, Earnest “Butch” Westbrook and wife,Paula, of Slaughter, La.; his daughter, Mary S. Freeman andhusband, Archie, of Bogue Chitto; his seven grandchildren, Demetra”Dee Dee” Cothern and husband, Tracy, of Bogue Chitto, Margo Smithand husband, Billy, of Bogue Chitto, Monica Decker and CheresseMatthews, both of Louisiana; Tonya Deville and husband, Kurt, ofJena, La., Archie W. Freeman and wife, Trudy, of Sanger, Texas, andRicky Westbrook, of Bogue Chitto; his 12 great-grandchildren; andhis five great-great-grandchildren.
