Police search for robbery suspects

Brookhaven Police are looking for two suspects in the armedrobbery of a beer truck at a local convenience store.

Assistant Police Chief Nolan Jones said Tuesday at 12:27 p.m., aBudweiser delivery truck had pulled up to the Stop & ShopGrocery & Market at 923 East Monticello St. The driver wasstill sitting in the cab when two young black males approached thetruck.

Jones said one of the suspects climbed up on the running boardof the truck, displayed a handgun and demanded the driver’smoney.

Officials say the driver gave him an undisclosed amount of cashand the two suspects fled the scene on foot. The driver made a callto a police officer with his cellular phone, and witnesses toldpolice they believe the alleged robbers fled towardsCloverdale.

“We’re still looking for these two suspects, and it’s an openinvestigation at this time,” Jones said.
