Services for Ruth Clay Cuffey, of Hazlehurst, are 1 p.m.Saturday, Nov. 15, at St. Peter Rock M.B. Church in Wesson withburial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.
Mrs. Cuffey, 95, died Nov. 9, 2008, at Pine Crest Guest Home inHazlehurst. She was born in Beauregard on July 14, 1913, to MoseClay Sr. and Ruthie Walker Clay.
She retired from Hazlehurst Box Factory after 30 years ofemployment. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Shewas a member of St. Peter Rock M.B. Church and was an usher formany years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, JessieSmith, Waco Hilton and Clarence Cuffey; a son, John H. Smith Sr.;her brothers, Mose Clay Jr., Emmitt Clay, Adolf Clay and GeorgeClay; her sisters, Minnie Clay, Emma Clay, Clara Williams andCarrie Bell Lane.
Survivors are her granddaughters, Thelma Hilliard, Barbara King,both of Hazlehurst, Johnnie R. Green, Sandra Smith, Tina Brown,Valerie Smith, Arlene Thomas, all of Wesson, and Patricia Parker,of Brookhaven; her grandsons, James E. Smith and wife, Francene,Larry L. Smith, John H. Smith Jr., Anthony G. Smith Jr., Anthony G.Smith, Timothy Smith, Michael Smith, Brian Thomas, all of Wesson,and Tracey Smith and wife, Christy, of Hazlehurst; and manygreat-grandchildren and other relatives.
