Brookhaven lost a valued leader this past week with the death ofCarl Holloway.
Holloway’s dedication and leadership to our community, fromserving as a Ward Three alderman in the 1980s to his tenure as aboard member and president of the board of trustees of theBrookhaven public schools, will be sorely missed.
His desire for Brookhaven and the Brookhaven public schools tonot only succeed, but to soar, was a testament to his love of ourcommunity.
We knew Carl as a quiet leader and a motivator who sought tobring out the best in everyone around him. One who sought to leaveour community a better place without fear of stepping on toes – ifstepping on toes meant progress and unity for the entirecommunity.
Brookhaven needs more Carl Holloways. For he leaves a void thatwill not be easily replaced.
