Lady ‘Cats triumph; EHS boys win in OT

The host Enterprise Yellow Jackets outscored the Bogue ChittoBobcats 6-1 in overtime to secure a 51-46 win in varsity boysbasketball action Friday night. The teams were deadlocked 45-all atthe end of regulation.

In the varsity girls game, the undefeated Lady ‘Cats put awaythe Lady Jackets 65-44.

Bogue Chitto hosts Loyd Star and Enterprise vists Salem onTuesday, Dec. 4, following the Thanksgiving Holidays.

Enterprise 51, Bogue Chitto 46

“Bogue Chitto had a good game,” said first-year Enterprise boyscoach John Knight. “It helped that Coach (Curt Crain) got hisfootball players. We had too many turnovers.

“I’m proud of my guys who fought hard to come back and win thegame. We missed too many free throws. We are still learning and wehave a long way to go to grow.”

Kevin Perry’s 16 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists helped pacethe Jackets (3-3) to the win. Austin Everett had a double-double of15 points and 10 rebounds. Pulling down 7 rebounds was RussellPerry.

“We had some guys who made shots when we needed to force theOT,” said Crain. “We are still learning. Enterprise made the playswhen they needed to win the game.”

The winless Bobcats (0-4) got 15 points and 11 rebounds fromShane Lewis. Fred Tillman grabbed 10 rebounds.

Bogue Chitto 65, Enterprise 44

Senior center Kelli Howard sparked the ‘Cats (4-0) with 19points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists. Shelby Tobiascollected 12 points, made 2 steals and had 2 assists. Finishingwith 11 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals was Darcy Miller.

“We hustled tonight,” said Bogue Chitto girls coach ChristiTerrell. “But we had a lot of mistakes. We shot very poorly fromthe perimeter.”

The Lady Jackets (1-5) were led by Lacey Orr with 14 points, 5rebounds and 2 assists. Karla Beth Hux fired in 13 points.Collecting 6 rebounds and 2 assists was Tara Paden.

“We’ve got to do the fundamental things better,” said Enterprisegirls coach Jill Nations.
