Lizzie Catherine Allen

Services for Lizzie Catherine Allen, of Bude, were 2 p.m.Sunday, Nov. 23, at Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Meadville with burialin Higdon Cemetery. Marshall Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.

Miss Allen, 73, died Nov. 16, 2008, at her residence. She wasborn in Natchez on Oct. 1, 1935, to Nora Allen Sr. and WeataAllen.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Kirby.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her two sisters, EssieHines and Dessie Lee Allen.

Survivors are a daughter, Linda Grinnell, of Bude; a son,Earnest Allen, of Bude; her two sisters, Baby Lillie Stampley, ofFayette, and Bessie Rae Felton, of Hamburg; her three brothers,Nora Allen Jr., Jacob Allen and C.L. Allen, all of Kirby; her fourgrandchildren; her four great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts,uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Turone F. ‘Fritz’ Bates

Services for Turone F. “Fritz” Bates, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Tuesday, Nov. 25, at St. James M.B. Church with burial in HillcrestCemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Monday from noon until 7 p.m. at R.E. TylerFuneral Home.

Mr. Bates, 44, died Nov. 18, 2008, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter in Brookhaven. He was born in Brookhaven on Nov. 18, 1964,to Leroy Bates and Lucille Bates.

He was a 1982 graduate of Brookhaven High School and attendedCopiah-Lincoln Community College. Mr. Bates was a formerfirefighter for the City of Brookhaven. He was also employed for anumber of years with the Nissan plant in Canton. He was a member ofSt. Mark M.B. Church.

Preceding him in death were a sister, Deborah; and his brothers,Willie and Jules.

Survivors are his parents; his wife, Jackie Jones Bates, ofBrookhaven; a son, T.J. Bates, of Brookhaven; his daughters, AngelBates, Jamakia Henderson, and Shaniece Newton, all of Brookhaven;his brothers, Paul, of Hazlehurst, Terry, Moses, Darryl and Ellary,all of Brookhaven, Jerry, of Crystal Springs, and Robert, ofMadison; his sisters, Annie Bates, of Calif., Evelyn Rawls, ofBrookhaven, Beverly Smith, of Jackson, Sharon Smith, of UnionChurch, and Bessie Evans, of Brookhaven.

A’keira Mikiyah Hooks

Graveside services for A’keira Mikiyah Hooks, of Brookhaven, are3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Monday from 2 until 3 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.

The infant, 8 months, died Nov. 21, 2008, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center in Brookhaven. She was born in Brookhaven on March25, 2008, to Curtney Gayten and Ariconshey Hooks.

Preceding her in death was her father.

Survivors are her mother, Ariconshey Hooks, of Brookhaven; abrother, Aquarius Hooks, of Brookhaven; a sister, Aquarianna Hooks,of Brookhaven; a devoted family friend, Deveere Williams, ofBrookhaven; a grandmother, Patricia Crossley and husband, Lee, ofBrookhaven; a grandfather, Michael Blue; her great-grandparents,Edna Hooks, Kathy Blue, Annie Gayten and Terry Gayten; and manyaunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

Arielle Cynthia Hope Kaho

Graveside services for Arielle Cynthia Hope Kaho, of Fayette,were 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at Greenleaf Baptist Church Cemeteryin Harriston. Marshall Funeral Home in Brookhaven was in charge ofarrangements.

The toddler died Nov. 17, 2008, at Jefferson County Hospital inFayette. She was born in Jackson on March 13, 2007, to Detrice Kahoand Stacey Barnes.

Preceding her in death were her twin sister, Destiny-Faith Kaho;a grandmother, Mae Rose Herrington; her great-grandparents, Mr. andMrs. Herman Kaho Sr. and Isaac Barnes; a stepgrandmother, Ora Kaho;and a great aunt and uncle, Annie and Frank Gamble.

Survivors are her parents; a brother, Matthew Kaho; hergrandparents, Willie and Annie Barnes and Willie and LouveniaHargro and Herman Kaho; a great-grandmother and great-grandfatherand a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives andfriends.

Earline McMorris

Services for Earline McMorris, of Vicksburg and formerly ofBogue Chitto, are noon Wednesday, Nov. 26, at New Zion Union M.B.Church in Bogue Chitto with burial in Norfield-Bogue ChittoCemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 1 until 6 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.

Mrs. McMorris, 79, died Nov. 21, 2008, at Heritage HouseRetirement Center in Vicksburg. She was born in Lincoln County onDec. 26, 1928, to Warren Dixon and Sarah Black Dixon.

She was a graduate of Lincoln County Training School andTougaloo College. Mrs. McMorris retired from education working inthe Lincoln County Public Schools and in the Lincoln CountyHeadstart Center. She was a member of New Zion M.B. Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, WeltonMcMorris; and a son, Lloyd Charles McMorris.

Survivors are her sons, Ronnie McMorris and wife, Pat, ofVicksburg, Samuel McMorris and wife, Gladys, of Brookhaven, andWelton McMorris Jr.; her sisters, Ruby Cahill, of Desoto, Texas,and Irene Dixon, of Houston, Texas; her brothers, Levell Dixon andwife, Alice, and Lawrence Dixon, all of Dallas, Texas, W.D. Dixon,of Brookhaven, and the Rev. Walter Dixon and wife, Lena, of BatonRouge, La.; a brother-in-law, Melton McMorris and wife, Mary, ofBogue Chitto; a sister-in-law, Juanita Labet, of Los Angeles,Calif.; her 10 grandchildren; her 13 great-grandchildren; and agreat-great-grandchild.

Addie Catherine Umbrello

Services for Addie Catherine Umbrello, of Liberty, were 2 p.m.Saturday, Nov. 22, at Whittington Chapel Church in Liberty withburial in the church cemetery. Marshall Funeral Home in Brookhavenwas in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Umbrello, 73, died Nov. 18, 2008, at Liberty CommunityLiving Center in Liberty. She was born in Amite County on Jan. 1,1935, to Dallie P. Sterling and Neta Bell Larimore Sterling.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, PatUmbrello.

Survivors are her son, Shawn Umbrello, of Liberty; her brothers,Jim Sterling and Louis Sterling, both of Liberty; a grandson,Joseph Umbrello, of Liberty; and a host of nieces, nephews, otherrelatives and friends.

Louise McGee Williams

Services for Louise M. Williams, of Brookhaven, are 10 a.m.Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on NatchezDrive with burial in New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Williams, 90, died Nov. 20, 2008, at Silver Cross Home. Shewas born in Lincoln County on Jan. 18, 1918, to Meredith and EvaKimble McGee.

She was the retired owner of Dianne’s Dress Shop and a devotedmother and wife. Mrs. Williams was a member of First UnitedMethodist Church and enjoyed being with people, traveling toHawaii, and playing Rook with the supper club.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and husband, Truman R.Williams.

Survivors are her sons, Paul Williams, of Atlanta, Ga., andLarry Williams and wife, Betty Ann, of Brookhaven; a daughter,Diane Goodhart, of Atlanta, Ga.; her five grandchildren; and agreat-grandchild.
