BHS kickers split with Cathedral

Lydia Warren scored two goals Monday afternoon to lead the hostBrookhaven Lady Panthers soccer team to a 4-2 win over the NatchezCathedral Lady Green Wave on King Field.

In the boys game, Brookhaven fell to Cathedral 1-0 in ashootout. The Greenies outscored the Panthers 5-4. Kevin Bowercoaches both BHS teams.

Following the Thanksgiving Holidays, Brookhaven opens Division6-4A play with Lawrence County on Friday, Dec. 5. The girls beginplay at 5:30 p.m. followed by the varsity boys at 7.

The Lady Panthers (5-3-1) got a goal apiece from Sarah Ayers andShelby Smith. Goalkeeper Lacey Wall made 8 saves.

Cathedral 1, Brookhaven 0

The game was deadlocked 0-0 at the end of regulation beforeCathedral won it in the shootout.

Scoring a goal apiece for the Panthers were Chris Lowman, JoshBanks, Jake Errington and Scott Warnock.
