Bogue Chitto takes two from Salem

BOGUE CHITTO – Kelli Howard fired in 15 points Friday night tospark the Bogue Chitto ‘Cats to a 73-28 Division 8-1A win over theSalem Lady Wildcats in R.L. “Bob” Calhoun Gyymnasium.

In the varsity boys contest, Brian Robinson pumped in 14 points,grabbed 4 rebounds, made 8 steals and had 12 assists in poweringthe Bobcats to a 65-39 victory over the Wildcats.

Bogue Chitto will participate in the Wesson Christmas Tournamenton Dec. 27, 29 and 30.

Bogue Chitto 73, Salem 28

Coach Christi Terrell’s ‘Cats (9-2, 1-1) got added support fromAdrienne Hall with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 10 steals and 7 assists.Netting 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds was Shelby Tobias.Aneshia Dillon finished with 12 points.

“It was a good district win for us,” said Terrell. “Everyone gotto play.”

The Lady Wildcats (2-6, 1-2) were sparked by Ciera Hill with 8points. Sandreneka Slocum finished with 7 points.

“We did not play very well,” said Salem coach Randy Laird, aWest Lincoln alumnus. “We were not focused. We were ready forChristmas break instead of the game.”

Bogue Chitto 65, Salem 39

“Our intensity was better tonight,” said Bogue Chitto first-yearboys coach Curt Crain. “Some of my younger guys stepped it up. Weare still learning and improving. Our pressure took Salem out ofits game. We set the tone early in the game.”

The Bobcats (2-8, 1-1) got added support from Shane Lewis with10 points and 4 rebounds. Byron Kersee grabbed 7 rebounds and made6 steals. Also collecting 7 rebounds was Tevin Tobias.

“We did not play very well and we were not focused,” saidLaird.

The Wildcats (1-7, 1-2) were paced by Tony Robinson with 12points, followed by Ron Causey with 10.
