If you’re doing last-minute shopping, the chamber of commerce ismaking it possible to shop locally from your desk at work.

Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce Executive VicePresident Cliff Brumfield said gift certificates to participatingchamber businesses are now available online.

“It took a little while to wrangle up a good number of retailersto sign up for it, but we’re exited about the program, and we hopethis will get everyone during the Christmas and post-Christmasshopping season,” he said. “We’re hoping this will be a yearlongevent and hope it’s successful enough to make it a chamber memberbenefit.”

Brumfield said the chamber Web site, www.brookhavenchamber.com,is under reconstruction, but that the “Chamber Gift Certificates”link on the right-hand side of the page is hard to miss. He saidthe Web site is currently being revamped by local professional JayPerkins.

There are a few stores that are not listed yet, but the list ofparticipating businesses should be complete sometime today,Brumfield said.

For those who want to give gift certificates but have noInternet access before Christmas, Brumfield said they can call(877) 770-4438 to order the certificates, or call the chamber ofcommerce at (601) 833-1411.
