Services for Rubie Lee Tucker Howard, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Thursday, Jan. 8, at Avery Chapel AME Church in Brookhaven withburial in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday from 1 until 7 p.m. at Williams Mortuarywith family present from 6 until 7 p.m..

Mrs. Howard, 89, died Jan. 2, 2009, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter in Brookhaven. She was born in Forrest County on Nov. 13,1919, to Leonard Tucker Sr. and Zadie Ratcliff Tucker.

She was a graduate of Brookhaven colored schools. She worked asan upholsterer for Brookhaven Mattress Works and retired from BrookManor Nursing Home. She was a member of Avery Chapel AMEChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Leonard”Sonny” Tucker Jr.; her sisters, Josie Tucker Harrison and MaryTucker; a granddaughter, Sandra Williams; a grandson, CourtneyHooker; and a son-in-law, Harvis Williams.

Survivors are her daughters, Vivian Howard Williams, PatriciaArnold Sias, Rose Arnold Smith and Doris Arnold, all of Brookhaven;her special cousin, Mable Blair, of Racine, Wis.; her 12grandchildren; her 29 great-grandchildren; her eightgreat-great-grandchildren; and her many nieces, nephews and otherrelatives.
