Services for Melva Ann Elkins Skinner, of Wesson, are 2 p.m.Monday, Jan. 12, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on Natchez Drivewith burial in Wesson Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Skinner, 62, died Jan. 9, 2009, at her residence. She wasborn in Hazlehurst on Nov. 21, 1946, to James Lavell Elkins andChristine Hux Elkins.

She was a business owner. She was a member of Rocky Hill BaptistChurch of Wesson.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her husband, Billy “Pete” Skinner, of Wesson; hersons and daughters-in-law, Davis and DeeDee Therrell, Richard andPam Skinner, Mitchell and Denise Skinner, and Sgt. Adam Berry,USMC, all of Wesson; her daughter, Paula Thornton, of Raleigh; hergrandchildren, Jeremy and Chelsea Wells, of Brandon, Dustin andKayla Wells, of Ellisville, Jessica Wells, of Raleigh, CoreySkinner and Kaleb Skinner, both of Wesson, Brett Skinner and DrewSkinner, both of Baton Rouge, La., and Brittany Hall, Lindsey Halland Preston Hall, all of Wesson; and her brothers, Bobby Elkins, ofFlorence, and James “Buster” Elkins, of Wesson.
